SkyWatch Friday

The clouds yesterday were amazing as we drove home from Pennsylvania on Route 81. Finally, I couldn't stand it and shot the above image through the car window.

We're Back From Pennsylvania

The trip although stressful, allowed time to do some shooting--not much, but some.

Hawk Is Back and Clouds

Our hawk has returned and today he decided to peak at me. Next time perhaps he will turn around and "smile."

While out, turning around displayed dramatic clouds which I converted into a black and white image and one in sepia.

I wasn't going to post this week because the skies (although a gorgeous deep blue) were not very interesting. Then, today, I woke up from my nap and here is what I saw:

Light Is Everything

One pink tulip appeared in our circle garden. As the sun descended, I began shooting.

Suggestion: Pay attention to how light illuminates your subject. Walk around. Circle the subject. Bend down. Bend over. Bend to the side. Change the angle of your camera from horizontal to vertical. Here's an additional trick...if something doesn't look quite right in your viewfinder, walk three steps to the left, or to the right, backward or forward.

Yesterday--Found Things

Yesterday I went out prop hunting and stopped by one of my favorite resale shops. There I found a framed Emerson quote and a Phrenology bust. The Phrenology bust turned out to be quite a find. Research unearthed that these unusual pieces were given to doctors in the late 50s and 60s by pharmaceutical companies and were signed Boehm (fine porcelain).

This piece of antique lace is beaded with mother of pearl beads. I have never seen beading done using mother of pearl beads before. I wonder what this unique, detailed piece was made for--an evening purse, a bridal gown?

SkyWatch--Angled Image

Saw this abstract-style image while waiting for takeout yesterday...decided to post. I love the angles framing the sky and treetops. Sometimes shots simply show up unexpectedly and that is always joyful.

Yesterday In Town--A Photo Bonanza

What a day! In town, color was bursting out everywhere...Spring is here.

RED TULIPS IN TOWN
After running some errands, we went to get Gyros for dinner. Outside the takeout door sat this potted plant. With some alterations, this could look like an oil painting. I love it when images show up.

This week I got a little carried away shooting morning and evening skies.

Above is a reflection in garage door window of sunrise. While heading out to shoot the mountains with clouds, this image caught my eye. So...of course, I had to quickly capture it. Reflections fascinate me. The rest of the images are self-explanatory and not taken "quickly."
