This week was excellent for sky drama. This is one of my favorites.

Hawk From Far Far Away

Fooled around with this hawk image which was taken with new lens. I like it because he is looking right at me. The hawk was at least a quarter of a mile away from the cabin. So, the image is soft. I am looking forward to getting closer to him soon. Sunny weather would be a big help too! Today our skies are heavily overcast.

Practicing

Everything involves practice and experimentation. This is the first time using the new lens. Purchased for hawks and birds of prey, it took a detour. This image, or a similar one, may be an entry at Monochrome Weekly. We'll see... will add texture and a few extra touches. Perhaps my Digital Bromoil process?

Here we are again...what a wonderful week spent looking up. Dramatic skies galore. Since I didn't want to overwhelm y'all, I only posted four images. Enjoy!

SkyWatch Friday--Sunset Series

Thanks for the SkyWatch team: Klaus Sandy Wren Fishing Guy Louise and Sylvia

Last night we had an unusual sunset with puffy pink clouds. So, out I shuffled to catch a couple of images. Rain was forecast for today. And...sure enough, it is pouring right now.

Monochrome Tulips

This morning I worked on a card for my daughter. Printed it out with full resolution. I may enter this image in Saturday's Monochrome Weekly event online.

SkyWatch Friday

SkyWatch Friday time again... Bob and I race around grabbing cameras to capture current scenes outside. He scoots out the door first and I follow about 15 minutes later. Timing is everything. Light changes rapidly. So, whenever I think our images will be identical, I am wrong.
My first image reminds me of how I paint in watercolor. I love when that happens. The second image has the sun creeping across the field and orchard with a cloud hugging a snow-covered mountain in the distance.

Fine Tuning

Reshot tulips (again). Almost the way I want them. Will save them as a monochrome for Monchrome Weekly on Saturday.

Tulips Reshot

Time to return to serious shooting. Redid the Tulip shoot today and the image below is the result. It could use a little more tweaking, but it looks more like my style now. Yesterday I used a programmed mode on my camera and was not happy with the results.

Lesson: When at first you don't succeed, do it again.
