An Amazing Evening

Tonight I decided to sit outside and watch the sunset unfold.  It was an amazing two hours. The third shot was just as it appears here.  What a show!  Added later is the edited version which looks more realistic.

Went to storage today and found three old manual prime lenses.  Decided to experiment using them on my old D100.  These are the first results.  How different from my usual images.  The color palette is totally different from the colors I usually use.  These remind me of the Dutch painter Bosch in the 15th and 16th centuries. It might be fun to play with these in PS sometime.   Perhaps one day soon I will do that.

Ideas Flowing

Overcast, gray days are the best when doing photography.  There is magic in diffused light. This morning so many ideas ran around in my head that I got headache.  A new series is being born.  I can't wait to see the results.  Currently I am immersed in the writing, sketching and planning processes featuring themes, colors and moods.

Good results require planning.

A Recent Acquisition

I had been looking for an old stoneware ewer (with a pewter top) for months.  Saturday we attended a celebration at a nearby antique mall.  One of my favorite vendors came over and said, "I have something for you."  "What?," I asked.  She pulled out a wrapped package and handed it to me.

Amazing!  She found exactly what I was looking for at an estate sale and remembered my request.
