mmm... i am going to have to investigate this!! love this image.
I'm guessing the flack came from someone with no appreciation of digital art. It seems that it is becoming much more widely accepted as more refined techniques are developed. We are definitely in an age of "making the image". The heavy handed stuff is all pretty garish but there is also some very fine artwork being created. This is a beautiful example of what an artist can do with the digital medium.
