For The Love of Books

Went to Habitat's Resale Store yesterday and browsed through stacks of old books. These volumes, printed during the 1800s, honor the written word by using fine papers, detailed drawings and fine cover bindings of leather and marbled edges. With the onslaught of computers, will these marvelously coifed epistles disappear?

I hope they don't disappear, I like ripping out the pages and printing my images on the paper in books like this.....

These are gorgeous books to own. Yes, time marches on. Gone are the days of holding a book; enter the world of Kindle and cyberland. It just isn't the same to me. I like to curl up with a good book for hours on end. If it is a paperback I will dogear pages and use highlight yellow markers for certain passages which speak to me. I was taught to show respect for all hardcover books. Don't get me wrong I do enjoy all my electronic toys but wonder what the future holds for books, magazines and newspapers. Excellent still life photographs!
