Playing Around with the Look of Old Printing Methods

Took this unusual rendition of onions last night and was surprised at the emerging textures and shimmering qualities. 

Yesterday was a rainy day and I didn't see anything to shoot. Finally, this image presented itself late in the evening.  So...I took it, of course..ta-da!

Experimentation continues. I am including these images, so you can see changes as they occur. Now, it is a matter of choice.

FIRST DIGITAL BROMOIL

Several years ago, I began experimenting with a process called digital bromoil. First attempt above. Last night I returned to that experimentation. What is wonderful is: no chemicals involved!

Several additional steps may be necessary. I will continue working with this image, or not. I do like the intensity of inking and depth. Will let this rest for a while and decide on any changes after the time out.

Layers

Onions fascinate me. Creatively we peel away psychological and spiritual layers as we delve deeper into our beings and our souls. With photography, the deeper we go the more intense our images become. I firmly believe in the correlation between self and the created image. What we are can be seen in our work.
