Day 70 -- Sunset -- 3-11-2014

SUNSET

Light

Abstract created by light last night.   The evening skies remind me of paintings by Leonardo Nierman.  Years ago, I saw an original oil of the moon which Neirman created.  The moon seemed to move.  I still see that image in my mind.

 

 

Snow????

While getting the car filled up with gas yesterday, I noticed this geometric/abstract image of snow on some storage facility roofs:

The result reminds me of a piano keyboard.  Took this using my iphone and worked on it using downloaded itune apps.  Is fun for me to play with images in my phone, although this does not compare to what one can do using Photoshop and a computer.



For Tuesday--From the Hip

This week's images were intuitively taken holding iphone camera at hip level, not arranging for composition and without looking at the LCD screen. I did play with a couple of in-camera (Plastique app) techniques--adding those choices prior to shooting.

Beginning of an abstract. Am considering In The Light as a title. Titles are important and require much thought. A title mentioning the ballet is also a possibility.

I look forward to playing with this...images within images. Can't wait to delve deeper--to jump in and see what comes out of this abstract. What a fun project for a rainy day, or a chilly winter afternoon.

ABSTRACT

Abstract Update

This could also be titled ARTIFACT and I may type that on the left side of this image, as room has been left to include a header. This Chief's Staff was created from scratch using Photoshop and other plugins. It was basically painted in Photoshop and not created using any photographs of feathers. Instead, the feathers appeared and as I worked with them, they continued materializing (similar to finding a statue in a block of marble). As with painting and sculpture, this piece evolved from nothing (photo of bag) into something.

Remember To Look Around

This morning I went out to shoot hay bales in fog. Three days ago the fog was thick in the early morning hours and I missed the shot. The only solution was to wait for the fog to roll in again.

Anyway...while out shooting hay bales, I saw this critter. He was created by dew on a metal door. Another dragon in my life? Could be. So...the point is: Remember to look around because when you are focusing on one thing, you may see something else worth shooting.

P.S. For some reason my memory card failed this morning and much time has been spent retrieving the lost photos. Did you know you can retrieve lost photos by going to the homepage for your memory card and downloading a Retrieval program? Well, you can. So, if for some reason something goes awry while out shooting there is hope...you can get the lost images back.

After Dusting

Well, so much for schedules...hung a couple of pictures, did some pick up and put away and dusted a little bit...took some shots and here is one result:

Christmas Card Beginnings

Today the process of Christmas Card creation began. I am late this year. Printed out the foundation image and did some test cards. Soon this image will be bedecked with gold ribbon, framed and adorned with glitter. Tomorrow the ornament will be pasted on card stock and the finishing touches added.
