Recent Endeavors

This week I experimented with iPhone apps.  Here are two images taken using the Hispanatic app.  It really feels good getting back to doing still life images.  I truly love still life.  Anything else is extra.

A Time for Reflection

Time away from shooting takes a toll.  It isn't always easy getting "back on the horse."  What a challenge!  I am surprised.  So...I will continue refining this image.  Almost there...but, not there yet.

Peaches, Egg and Hydrangeas

Reshot image from the other day with some additions. This time no problem with the white balance, or lighting. Below two different moods...similar setup.

Subtle changes create differences in tone and mood.

Fine Tuning

Have been playing in Photoshop honing this image taken a few days ago. What a difference a few changes in tone and hue make.

Peaches

Found time to shoot peaches...oh, how I love them. Their colors and the textures always are fabulous, fascinating and intriguing.

Peaches

Today was to be an Artist's Day Out. However, Bob is drooling over these peaches. They could disappear at any moment. One advantage to shooting food is: after shoot...FEAST!

Planning for Simple Images

This afternoon was spent running errands and then, after the boring "have-to-do" chores; to visit my favorite resale shop and the grocery store. Both places are a plethora of artistic materials. A covered, pewter pitcher from the Netherlands caught my eye at the resale shop. Snow peas, peaches, pears, plums, grapes, lemons and some veggies filled the grocery cart.

It is time, once again, to envision Renaissance settings and proceed. A variety of classical images dance in my head. Next, I look forward to sewing a broad-brimmed white cap for my model. A dear friend will sit for some of the shots. Her portrait will be filled with potatoes, breads, copper pots, tulips and poppies. The light will be natural, or candlelight.

It is, as another friend reminds me, "time to work the magic." I can hardly wait.
