Have decided to use the new camera for black and white images and am experimenting with light and toner shades. Sepia is the perfect partner for melancholy images.
This old trunk was found in a church basement almost 50 years ago.

Very Well Done Elisabeth !!!
Great Sepia.

Sepia can do the trick for ancient. I have never used it myself though perhaps a self-portrait would convey my patina of age...:)
In Norway such trunks were called "America"-trunks. a fine specimen.
I would not have guessed it was a trunk, at first glance it looked like the elbow on a suit of armour.
What an extraordinary trunk!!!Tell me... What was inside?
Beautiful, I like the light on top
Sylvia, wish I could say gold, silver or tintypes and old relics, however when found, the trunk contained...absolutely nothing. Now it houses antiques and props, so it finally has a mini-treasure inside. :-)
Beautiful shot, love the details. I love old things in sepia. Mine is in sepia too.
Sepia did give justice to the trunk. Enhancing it's being a relic of the past! Great.
Beautiful light.
A perfect shot! The trunk look great!
Great capture!
Lovely, Elizabeth. Nice that you are pointing out the beauty that is all around us.
Someone said "this is art" and I agree!
It's really mysterious! So full of age - and sepia does bring out the best in it.
I love the contrast in your photo!
Looks important, grand; can't imagine it not sepia!
I'd love to own that trunk! It's perfect in sepia.
Beautiful!
Nicely done
Lovely and intriguing. ~ Calico Contemplations
