Colors In Early Light

These crates caught my attention, first thing this morning, as the sun began to peek over the mountains.  The color saturation was amazing for so early in the day.

The Door

Finally was able to shoot "The Door."  This door was found at a local flea market. It weighs a ton.  When we brought it home, it was water logged, but now is all dried out.  The sign was a "miracle' find.   I have never seen one like this before and was really excited over discovering it.  It took some negotiating to purchase it, but mission accomplished.

Book Fix Plus

Yesterday I headed to the BIG city to savor books and more books. Had a fabulous time surrounded by ideas. Came home with a small stack and my brain on "All Systems Go."

On the way back, I decided to take pics while stopped at lights or stop signs. What fun! Here are two of those snaps:

Then, last night (while feasting on books), I looked up and saw the most magnificent sunset colors. And...of course...grabbed camera and ran lickety split to snap that shutter.

Play Day

There is nothing I enjoy more than having a play day. After looking at the grass textures in black and white, I decided to include a color copy here. Playing is an excellent way to learn what works and what doesn't. There is something quite beautiful about grasses. They are worthy of study.

Card Update, Signs and Textures

Subdued card color for printing. Somehow the bright colors were too bright and garish.

It pays to carry a camera all the time. Went to have oil changed and spotted these usual symbols created (I think) during a roof repair. These remind me of ancient writing (oriental chops).

Next coming out of store saw a hillside of texture:

Seeing the Positives

"People only see what they are prepared to see."
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Start seeing differently--look closely. Walk around your home. Walk around your neighborhood. Creative, inspirational gems are everywhere.

My mother used to say, "Look at nature." Fall fields of grasses may take on a rust cast. Trees are cloaked in coats of many colors. A variety of textures and colors sit side by side. Symmetry, texture, color, design, patterns, movement, composition, darks and lights--can be found in nature. What combinations of colors do you like? Sit for a while...savor the moment. What do you see?

Today: I will take time to look around my world.
